Launched in 2005, this mental illness education/training program reduces stigma and uses evidence-based approaches to teach better communication skills to help understand and respect those who have a mental illness. The foundation of Changing Minds is built on first-person perspectives of those with lived experience of mental illness. Changing Minds’ delivery format was revised and the program relaunched in 2015; the program has since been delivered to hundreds of people.
Changing Minds is now being used to generate revenue to offset CMHA-NL’s reliance on government funding. .
