Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

Learn to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, provide a skilled intervention, and develop a safety plan.

Mental Health First Aid Essentials

Learn to recognize signs of a developing mental health problem or crisis and provide support until appropriate help is available.

Frequently asked questions

Is Resilience Project training free?

Yes. Resilience Project education and training is offered at no charge thanks to funding provided by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Who can participate?

The project supports community members, first responders, volunteers, workplaces, community groups, and others in wildfire-impacted communities of Conception Bay North, Holyrood, St. John’s, Mount Pearl, Paradise, Badger and area, Wabush, and Labrador City.

Do I need previous mental health training?

No previous mental health training is required to participate in the public training opportunities offered through the project.

Are sessions available virtually?

Some training is available virtually, while other programs are delivered in person. Check the upcoming sessions on Eventbrite for the delivery format of each session.

Can I request training for my workplace or community group?

Yes. Sessions can be requested for workplaces, community groups, volunteer organizations, schools, clubs, and other groups.
