Here’s how it works…

Ride Outside
Get outside and feel the wind on your face. Cycling and fresh air are good for anyone’s mental and physical health. Ride—or run, walk, hike, you name it—anytime, anywhere, as long or as little as you like, just be sure to follow the recommendations from public health authorities, which may change on a day-to-day basis.

Ride Inside

Spin and sweat it out on a stationary cycle. Move your body indoors and #stayhomestaysafe. Spin, run on the treadmill, run the stairs. Set your goal and work towards it daily.

Ride In Spirit

No bike? No problem. You can Ride In Spirit and be part of the movement. Practice yoga, meditate, dance, journal, bake bread or virtually break bread with loved ones. Set a mental or physical health goal and work towards it every day.

Ride Don’t Hide, Virtually

Ride Don’t Hide is charting a new path. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic and the physical distancing measures in place to control the spread of the virus, in person Ride Don’t Hide events in most regions have been or will be cancelled.

At the same time, need for mental health programs and services is surging during the pandemic. The mental health toll of self-isolation, economic downturn, and unprecedented stress and uncertainty is very real and can be devastating. Our communities need our leadership and guidance more than ever.

In order to offer solace through community and connection, physical and mental health-positive activities, and a sense of belonging and contribution, Ride Don’t Hide is offering a virtual event experience.

For the month of June, we’re asking you to Ride Don’t Hide, Virtually. Get involved by riding outside, riding inside or riding in spirit to bring mental health into the open, wherever we are. Ride Don’t Hide shows the world that we don’t have to stand side by side to stand together for mental health.

Even in isolation, no one rides alone.


Ride Don’t Hide, Virtually is an online-only peer to peer fundraising initiative. Ride Don’t Hide, Virtually asks riders to sign up online, then spread the word and raise funds for mental health programs and services. Riders are encouraged to ride outside, ride inside, or ride in spirit while taking care of themselves—physically and mentally. Through email, social media and ‘events’ that are livestreamed or broadcast online, Ride Don’t Hide, Virtually aims to facilitate a sense of agency, wellness, connection, contribution, community and belonging.

About Ride Don’t Hide
Ride Don’t Hide is an annual, nationwide community bike ride that brings mental health into the open while raising essential funds for mental health initiatives. Each year, participants and supporters all across Canada help raise almost $2-million for the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA).
