Child and Youth Mental Health Education
Our Child and Youth Mental Health Education program is focused on creating meaningful conversations, reducing stigma, and equipping young people with the tools they need to support their mental well-being.
Through interactive and age-appropriate sessions, we aim to build awareness, encourage open dialogue, and provide practical strategies that children and youth can use in their everyday lives.
Some of the sessions currently available include:
- Think Twice – Introduces students to the fundamentals of mental health while exploring the stigma that often surrounds it.
- Boundaries – Helps students understand different types of boundaries, why they matter, and how to set and maintain them in a healthy way.
- Toxic Positivity – Examines the “good vibes only” mindset, its potential harms, and encourages more authentic and supportive ways of responding to emotions.
- Self-Care – Explores the importance of self-care through the seven pillars, helping students reflect on what supports their well-being.
- Coping with Stress – Breaks down what stress is, how it shows up, and practical ways to manage it.
- Maintaining Wellness – Introduces the eight dimensions of wellness and supports students in identifying strategies to maintain balance in their lives.
All sessions are approximately 50 minutes in length, can be adapted to suit different grade levels, and are offered free of charge through CMHA-NL’s Children and Youth Education and Training Program.
