Rural Resilience: Mental Health Education for Youth & Community Leaders on Newfoundland’s West Coast

Empowering Rural Communities Through Mental Health Training & Education

What is Rural Resilience?

Rural Resilience is a mental health education initiative designed to equip youth and those who work with youth on Newfoundland’s West Coast with the knowledge and skills to support mental well-being in their communities. Through evidence-based training, including Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) and SafeTALK, this program builds a network of informed, proactive mental health advocates in rural areas.

Developed by CMHA-NL, Rural Resilience ensures youth, educators, community leaders, and service providers have the tools they need to recognize, respond to, and support mental health challenges.
