Sean Kennedy is the Director of Marketing at St. John's based, ClearRisk Inc. He is a marketing strategy leader who helps high growth companies in technology develop strategy and growth models. Sean is the dad of two amazing kiddos, and an active community volunteer. He has served on Boards such as the East Coast Trail Association, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and is a hockey coach in his spare time.

Chad currently serves as the Executive Director for Momentum Developmental Support, a community-based residential provider for adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.a licensed clinical social worker, working as a healthcare executive for a community-based organization here in NL. He has spent his career supporting persons with mental illness, as well as supporting overall mental health for approx 20 years.

Jackie McCann-Scott is a certified financial planner (CFP) and a certified health insurance specialist (CHS). Over more than 20 years, Jackie has built a fresh and forward-thinking financial planning practice that aims to educate and empower the clients it serves. As the founder of Lupin Planning Group Inc and an active member of Advocis – The Financial Advisors Association of Canada – she recently led an initiative to help improve the financial literacy of the province’s youth and is a regular contributor to various local media, where she helps people gain clarity on a wide variety of financial topics.

Alison Greenoff | Secretary

Alison is a registered social worker with Eastern Health, currently working in the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Clinic and the Immunodeficiency Clinic. For more than 16 years, Alison has helped clients in various program areas including Child Protection, Community Supports, Medicine, Rehabilitation, and Mental Health and Addictions. Alison was one of the first social workers in Canada to receive training and implement the Strengths Model of Case Management in Newfoundland, through the School of Social Welfare, University of Kansas. Alison has both professional and lived experience in mental health and is delighted to serve as Board Member with CMHA-NL.

Gordon Hawkins is a Coordinator of Employment Supports with First Light NL. It was there he started his volunteerism, and continues to volunteer with several Boards and organizations. Gord is Certified Child and Youth Care Worker and sits on the Executive of the Child and Youth Care Association of NL. Gord has been supporting and working with youth since 2004 in various roles and capacities. Gord is passionate about education, awareness, and good mental health practice, and wants to see more educated helpers working in the community, and lower barriers for those in need of service.

Brenda Dennis is the Indigenous Community Navigator with the Newfoundland Aboriginal Women’s Network (NAWN) in Stephenville. She is a strong advocate for Mental Health awareness in her community and an active volunteer with many non-profit organizations. In 2020 Brenda received the CMHA-NL’s Pottle Award for her tireless commitment towards furthering Mental Health Awareness and initiatives in NL. Brenda was recently named the Citizen of the Year for 2022.

Fabian completed a Bachelor of Commerce and a Master of Business Administration from MUN, and he is the Director of HR with Browning Harvey Ltd.. He is involved in the local business community, acting as a business representative for various advisory committees, and has volunteered with many community organizations throughout NL. Fabian is pleased to lend his knowledge and expertise as a Director with CMHA-NL’s Board.

Craig Tucker is a distinguished senior executive with a remarkable expertise in corporate communications, market development, and strategy. As a seasoned entrepreneur, Craig currently owns a diverse portfolio of business ventures, including Crossbeam Education, a dynamic entity that encompasses renowned institutions such as Keyin College, Learning Labs, and Impress Design. Craig's passion for community engagement extends beyond the business realm. He serves on various boards, including the National Association of Career College, Health Care Foundation, and most recently, the Canadian Mental Health Association (NL Chapter). Through these positions, Craig contributes to the betterment of society and champions initiatives that have a positive impact on people's lives.

Dr. Kathleen Callanan  | Director

Dr. Kathleen Callanan | Director

Kathleen Callanan is a Psychiatrist with Eastern Health and Clinical Assistant Professor with Memorial University. Kathleen primarily works as an outpatient psychiatrist in general adult psychiatry. Her work also includes shifts at the psychiatric emergency department (PAU) and clinics with provincial corrections facilities. Through her clinical roles, she works with adults with a variety of mental illnesses and struggles, including individuals with addictions and those experiencing crisis. As a faculty member with the Discipline of Psychiatry, she is regularly involved in the clinical training of medical students and psychiatry residents in training.

Paul Preston | Director

Paul Preston | Director

Paul is a Co-Founder of Audyse Technology, a tech start-up in St. John's. He also runs his own Executive Advisory Consultancy, providing support to clients such as Genoa Design, where he previously held the role of Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer. Paul has a diverse background, having served as the CEO of techNL, where he successfully implemented a new strategy, rebranding, and programming to transform the organization. He has actively contributed to several Boards and committees, including CMHA-NL, Genome Atlantic, the Digital Technology Committee of The Health Accord in NL (as Chair), and the Atlantic Canada ICT Committee (ACOA-ATIGS) (as Co-Chair). Paul resides in St. John's with his wife and two children, actively participating in volunteer activities.
