The At Work Program is delivered in 12 communities across Canada. This federally-funded, national program is designed to assist individuals living with mental illness that are unemployed or under-employed, by supporting them to obtain and maintain meaningful employment. The program was established to provide employment support, job maintenance, and job retention services to participants living with a mental illness or mental health issue.
At Work will help provide employer awareness activities and financial incentives through a wage subsidy and assist employers by filling their hiring needs.
One Employment Support Coordinator has been hired to implement and deliver the program, which began on October 2018 and will end in October 2021.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYEES
Any individual aged 16 or over, legally entitled to work in Canada, who self-identifies as having a mental illness and who is unemployed or under-employed may be eligible. Individuals must not be EI -eligible or have drawn EI in the last five (5) years.
