Canadian Mental Health Association Newfoundland and Labrador Division (CMHA-NL) is a provincial division of CMHA, the nationwide leader and champion for mental health. Our mission is to facilitate access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience and support recovery from mental illness. CMHA-NL’s provincial head office is in St. John’s, and we also have two regional offices located in Grand Falls-Windsor (Central) and Stephenville (Western). We are currently recruiting for our Regional Manager (Central) to provide delivery, promotional, developmental and public relations services in support for the programs, initiatives and activities administered by CMHA-NL at the regional level.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Regional Manager plans, organizes and manages the daily activities of a regional office, including the development of regional plans, training and educational activities, and community engagement. The manager develops and implements a regional public relations program, while responding to inquiries and concerns regarding mental health issues in the region. The Regional Manager initiates outreach to CMHA-NL’s stakeholders including relationships with local businesses, schools, other community agencies, and the public through presentations and information sessions to promote CMHA-NL’s vision, mandate, goals, and objectives; prepares proposals, reports and performs other related duties as required.
Graduation with a university degree in the field of Health, Education, Social Work or Community Development, supplemented with research, writing, excellent oral and presentation skills. Also, the Regional Manager must have the ability to work within a team environment and maintain relationships with other organizations. Proficiency in computer and office related software is required. Having two to five years’ experience in mental health promotion or equivalent is an asset.
