Canadian Mental Health Association Newfoundland and Labrador Division (CMHA-NL) is a provincial division of CMHA, the nationwide leader and champion for mental health. Our mission is to facilitate access to the resources people require to maintain and improve mental health and community integration, build resilience and support recovery from mental illness. CMHA-NL’s provincial head office is in St. John’s, and we also have two regional offices located in Grand Falls-Windsor (Central) and Stephenville (Western).
ABOUT THE POSITION
The Canadian Mental Health Association – NL Division Western Regional Office presently has one position available for Program Coordinator. The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Western Regional Manager, helping to plan, organize and deliver the daily programs and activities of a regional office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Program Coordinator will maintain relationships with CMHA-NL’s stakeholders and community partnering agencies to deliver supportive programming which fosters mental wellness for all. The Program Coordinator will help deliver information sessions, project-based activities, educational and training sessions, prepares reports, and performs other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications include a diploma or undergraduate degree in the field of Health, Education, Social Work or Community Development supplemented by experience and knowledge of best practices regarding mental health, wellbeing, life promotion and suicide prevention as well as excellent written and presentation skills. Must have the ability to work within a team environment, as well as independently. Proficiency in computer and office related software is required. Having two to five years experience in mental health promotion is an asset. All applicants must provide a criminal records check.
