The Canadian Mental Health Association, Newfoundland and Labrador Division (CMHA-NL), is currently seeking nominations for its Board of Directors.
March 8th, 2016- CMHA-NL launches Annual Leadership Award, Pottle Award and Research Grant Applications
Mental Health Leadership Award
This award honours a mental health service provider, researcher, or community leader for excellence in mental health leadership within Newfoundland and Labrador. Awardees must have shown dedication to furthering mental health within the province through his or her clinical practice, research, or community service. Submissions should be in the form of a letter outlining the suitability of the candidate for the award.

Pottle Award (Volunteer Award)
This award was established in memoriam of the late Dr. Clarence Pottle, a psychiatrist and the first provincial Director of Mental Health Services in Newfoundland and Labrador.This award will honour a volunteer in the community who has demonstrated tireless commitment towards furthering mental health in Newfoundland and Labrador. It will be awarded based on the quality and quantity of volunteer work and overall impact within the community.

The deadline for receipt of nominations is May 9, 2016. Please submit all nominations to email@example.com. The award recipient will be notified before the end of May and the award will be presented at the CMHA-NL Annual General Meeting which is scheduled for June 10, 2016.
Mental Health Research Scholarship
One scholarship valued at up to $1000 will be awarded to both recognize and support mental health research relevant to Newfoundland and Labrador. Projects should be at the graduate, post-graduate, or post-doctoral level. Applicants from a diverse array of disciplines are encouraged. This scholarship will be awarded based the quality of the proposed project, potential contribution to mental health research, and achievements of the applicant. Applications should include: a curriculum vitae, university transcripts, one-page project summary, and a letter of support from the student's research supervisor.
